FFXIV: All Extreme Mounts Currently In The Game

Some of Final Fantasy XIV‘s best-designed mounts are dropped from Extreme Trials and keeping track of them all can be difficult for adventurers. Even if an adventurer does not acquire the mount after multiple attempts, the game has a guaranteed way to eventually obtain the item desired. Specific materials from each duty can be traded to special vendors for the item necessary to summon the mount. Extreme trial mounts encourage adventurers to try harder content to obtain rewards with intricate details.

By completing a few quests at level twenty from their chosen Grand Company, adventurers are rewarded with their first mount, a Chocobo, and acquire many more throughout their journey. From the ridiculous Fat Chocobo to the majestic Fenrir mount, FFXIV is filled with wonderful designs. The level of detail the design team puts into Extreme mounts is in stark contrast to the regular mounts in the game. These mounts play their respective Extreme Trial’s music while riding and have unique animations while on the ground or in the air.

After completing the main story, players often create a goal for themselves of collecting all the in-game mounts. Up until Endwalker, each expansion added a special mount for collecting specific Extreme Trial mounts. These unique mounts in FFXIV had a theme for each release; horses for A Realm Reborn, birds in HeavenswardStormblood had wolves, and Shadowbringers included mechanical dragons created with Allagan technology. A few of these mounts have also been available for purchase during each run of FFXIV‘s Moogle Treasure Trove event.

All Extreme Mounts In FFXIV

To help adventurers catch up to current content, a buff called the Echo is applied every time the whole party wipes in a past expansion’s Extreme Trial, which boosts all character stats. Players can also unsync to fight above the level cap to make it easier to unlock mounts, like Nightmare. For those looking to start or complete their collection, here are all the Extreme Trial mounts as of the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker official release.

While the effort put into acquiring all the mounts is great, the knowledge and skill gained are worth all the time spent in the Extreme Trials.
