Carole Cook, the famous actress, passed away on Wednesday, January 11 of heart failure at the age of 98. She is best known for her role as grandmother Helen in the 1984 comedy Sixteen Candles. Comedian Scott Nevins paid tribute to her on Facebook by posting a photo of him sitting next to her. Nevins writes in the title:
“I’m very happy to work with her and glad she let me talk about how old I am”42. Carol, rest now.
J William McDaniel, a musician, also shared his grief on Facebook, saying Cook was a force of nature, a skilled and extraordinary performer and a friend. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to introduce and accompany her at O’Neill 2019. The message went on to say,
“We have worked together many times over the years and I am happy for each of them. I am a much better person because I know her. Get some rest, diva. “I admire you.”
Cook’s stepson Christopher, wife Becky, sister Regina, and nieces and nephews survived her. Donations can be made in her honor to the Recreation Community Foundation.

Carole Cook is known for her roles in films, television series, and plays.
The actress, also known as Mildred Frances Cook, graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Greek theatre. She previously worked in theater and made her stage debut in 1956 as Mrs. Peacham in the play The Threepenny Opera.
She appeared in many other productions, including Hello, Dolly!, Stop the World – I Want to Get Down, Father’s Day, Romantic Comedy, 42nd Street, Support Actors, Steel Magnolias, Dress Up, The Lion in Winter, Retired Ladies, Radio Gals, 70, Girls 70 and Madness. Carole Cook made her television debut as Mrs. Parker/Nurse on the US Marshal from 1959 to 1960. She is best known for appearing in 18 episodes of the CBS comedy series The Lucy Show. From October 1, 1962 to March 11, 1968, the show aired 156 episodes for six seasons.
Cook later appeared in several other television shows, including Kentucky Jones, Daniel Boone, Sergeant, Maude, ER!, Charlie’s Angels, Knight Rider, The Love Boat, Strip Mall, Grey’s Anatomy, and others.
Carole’s film career began in 1963 with the comedy Palm Springs Weekend, starring Naomi Yates. She then played Bessie Limpet in The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a 1964 comedy. The film, directed by Arthur Lubin, received good reviews and stars Don Knotts, Jack Weston, Andrew Duggan, Larry Keating, and others. She has appeared in films such as The Gauntlet, American Gigolo, Summer Lovers, Grandview, United States of America, Fast Money, Lost & Found, Home on the Range, A Very Sordid Wedding and Waiting in Wings: Still Working wait.
