Scary 911 call
Jeter called 911 after completing the murder and informed the dispatcher that she had just killed her children. She said one of them was dead, but the other wanted to be rescued and needed urgent help.
While on the phone, Jeter can be heard reassuring the injured Kiersten and begging the operator not to shoot her because he doesn’t have a gun. Deputies arrived to find Debra with his arms raised and the murder weapon on top of a nearby vehicle. She was immediately taken into custody and recorded on a suicide note at the Hill County Law Enforcement Center.

The mother-of-two was charged with murder and attempted murder, and her bail was set at $1.5 million. In May 2010, she pleaded guilty and accepted a plea agreement that allowed her to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
