The Next Level Chef returns to Fox on Sunday, February 12 for a second season. The new season will feature 18 contestants split into teams of six that will compete for the $250,000 grand prize under the leadership of Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais. Alex Morizio, a 48-year-old home cook, is one of six members of Nyesha Arrington’s team. He is the Regional Medical Director of the ICC Intensivist Group in Miami. His role, according to his LinkedIn page, is to “review and monitor intensive care unit procedures in underserved facilities.” He is also responsible for recruiting intensive care physicians and fostering relationships among caregivers. Alex is also responsible for quality measures at his hospital, such as sepsis mortality and intensive care hospital stay.

Alex Morizio was born in Brooklyn and currently lives in Miami. In 1993, he graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Alex then attended Ross University School of Medicine to pursue his Doctor of Medicine degree, graduating in 2002. Next Level Chef is a unique culinary challenge with three separate kitchens with different scenarios, where each chef has to tackle assigned tasks while trying to prepare the best food possible. .
