Warzone 2 DMZ Nerfs Weapon XP From Buying To Fight Glitch

Warzone 2 has nerfed one of its biggest weapon XP exploits in the new DMZ mode, according to players. Call of Duty is no stranger to bugs, glitches, and exploits, and both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have fallen afoul of issues since their release. Some of these exploits have enabled players to level up more quickly than expected, granting them a potentially unfair advantage in MW2 multiplayer and in Warzone 2‘s new map, Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2‘s DMZ players were able to find an infinite money glitch that let them stock up on funds that could be used to powerlevel their weapons through purchasing. The infinite money glitch that players have been using to farm weapon experience hasn’t been patched yet, but an article posted on PCGamesN reports that the amount of experience players earn from purchasing has been nerfed. This isn’t the only recent nerf, as armor-piercing bullets in Warzone 2 have been patched to no longer pierce armor.

Warzone 2’s Infinite Money Glitch Still Works, But Is Less Effective

It isn’t uncommon for games to release with glitches that players are able to find and exploit, and it’s likely a matter of time until Infinity Ward removes the money glitch so that players have to return to leveling their weapons in intended ways. But it might not be long before players find a new glitch for leveling their weapons to avoid the grind of earning experience through kills and purchases in Warzone 2. Considering this isn’t the only glitch that players have found, it’s possible that even after it’s patched, there will be another weapon leveling method discovered.

Although the infinite money exploit is generally less harmful than some of the worst Call of Duty and Modern Warfare franchises’ glitches, it still gives players an unfair advantage, so it’s good to see a nerf put in place. The exploit may still remain for the time being, but one would imagine that a future update will remove the bug altogether, so that the money mechanic can be used as it was intended. Either way, Call of Duty players have a habit of finding sneaky new methods to circumvent the rules, so it wouldn’t be disingenuous to assume that some other kind of exploit will make its way to Warzone 2 in the future, which would assumedly lead to another fix.

The infinite money glitch is frustrating, but it’s far from the only bug to have come out of the latest iteration of Modern Warfare. Some glitches from the first Warzone have returned in Warzone 2, such as the invisible glitch, which has been frustrating players during the launch period. Hopefully, Infinity Ward can get a hold of the glitches in Warzone 2 soon, and ensure that the game is as fair as possible.
