According to a Facebook post by his friend Khalid Latif, Sidi Mouaz Al-Nass was taken to hospital last week in critical condition and sadly passed away. The son of Sheikh Samir, a famous Damascus scholar who earned his medical degree in Syria and the United States, Sidi Mouaz Al-Nass was considered a friendly person.
The Risala Foundation shared the devastating news on Facebook,
“It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the death of our brother, teacher and friend Mouaz Al-Nass. The light went out. He was so close to us in Risala that it is hard to imagine Risala without him. We are in deep mourning for the loss of our friend, not because of him, because we know what awaits him, but because of all of us, because of what we have lost, we walk with a true friend of God”.
Who was Sidi Mouaz Al Nass?
Sidi Mouaz Al Nass was a prominent and respected figure in the Islamic world. He was the son of Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Sidi Mouaz Al Nass, a famous Sufi leader and spiritual guide. Sidi Mouaz Al Nass was known for his extensive knowledge of Islamic teachings, his love for his community, and his commitment to helping others.
Syrian-born Mouaz Al-Nass was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and studied Tajweed and Fiqh with his father, Dr. Samir Al-Nass, a prominent Syrian scholar. He graduated in Information Systems Management from a Syrian institution and has participated in various musical performances in the US, UK, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia as a skilled singer and percussionist. His passing was deeply mourned by many people who held him in high esteem.
