According to official data, the NTA conducted the Joint University Entrance Examination (UG) – 2023 (CUET-UG) in the Computer-Based Examination (CBT) for more than 1.5 million unique registered candidates. Candidates have selected more than 6.4 million exams and registered over 48,000 different subject combinations at 250 universities, institutes and institutions participating in the 2023-2024 school year.
CUET UG Result 2023: How to calculate NTA CUET result?
CUET 2023 results will be prepared by the National Examinations Authority using the “percentage method”. This method will be used to standardize the raw scores of each candidate in each subject. In the event that the CUET exam is conducted in multiple shifts for a particular subject, the raw score will be converted to a standardized score on a standardized scale.
CUET UG Result 2023: To understand how CUET UG Result 2023 is calculated, candidates can follow below steps:
Step 1: Convert raw points to CUET percentage points
The first step involves converting raw scores to CUET percentage points. This is done to standardize the scores of candidates who have appeared in the exam in different sessions for a particular topic. Each group of students from each shift will be percentage-based on their raw scores, using a formula specifically designed for CUET percentage scores.

Step 2: Sort CUET percentages in descending order
Consider six students named Stu1, Stu2, Stu3, Stu4, Stu5 and Stu6. In which, Stu2, Stu4 and Stu6 take the test in shift 1, while Stu1, Stu3 and Stu5 take the test in shift 2, all of which are on the same topic. The raw scores obtained by these students are used to calculate the percentage (PStu1, PStu2, PStu3, PStu4, PStu5, PStu6) for the given course. These percentages are then ranked in descending order. The corresponding crude grades (RMStu1, RMStu2, RMStu3, RMStu4, RMStu5, RMStu6) from each case were also recorded.
Step 3: Determine the point through linear interpolation
Linear interpolation was used to estimate missing points for students who were absent from one shift but appeared in another. If some students (Stu2, Stu4, Stu6) attend shift 1 but not shift 2, their raw scores in shift 2 will be missing. Similarly, for students (Stu1, Stu3, Stu5) appearing in shift 2, their scores in shift 1 will not be missed. Using the interpolation method, missing points can be calculated for each candidate in each shift.
Step 4: Calculate the normalized score on the standardized scale
After sorting the percentage points in descending order, including the raw and interpolated scores for each change, the next step is to compute the normalized scores. Raw scores were obtained from the case in which the student participated in a writing workshop, while interpolated scores were estimated for the second shift when the student did not have the opportunity to rework the workshop on the same topic. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will calculate the average of the actual raw score in one shift and the interpolated score in the other shift for each student. These average scores will serve as normalized scores on a standardized scale.
