Mary Valastro is the first matriarch of the Valastro family. What a woman she is! You have to be a very strong and driven person to help your husband run the business and raise five children at the same time. She is clearly doing a great job here.

Mauro Castano
Maddalena’s husband and Buddy’s best friend Mauro Castano could easily be considered a gentle giant. Like his wife, Mauro has no problem engaging in loud chatter on the show, but he does it in a much more seamless and calm manner. Buddy entrusted his life to him and he has been his right hand for as long as we can remember.
Unlike many other members of the family, Mauro was actually born in Italy. Mauro is a talented cake decorator and has the most subtle sense of humor of all on the show.
