Former Olympic Athlete Will Join Celebrity Name That Tune
Former figure skater and optimist Adam Rippon will appear on Fox’s upcoming musical show, Celebrity Name That Tune. To expect more songs from Chris Jericho as he raises funds for Pups Without Borders. The star was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to a family of five brothers. He had ear correction surgery as an infant when he was found to be nearly deaf.
Adam attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Primary School. After attending a skating themed birthday party at the age of ten, he started skating. His mother’s efforts to take him to Philadelphia twice a week to learn to skate paid off when he was cast at age 11 in Stars on Ice to play young Scott Hamilton. From 2005 to 2007, the candidate for Celebrity Name That Tune studied under Yelena Sergeeva. He won a silver medal at the US Figure Skating Championships while training with her. He then won a junior gold medal at the Triglav Trophy in Slovenia. He also placed 11th at the 2006 and 2007 US Championships.
He won multiple titles over the years before moving to Toronto in 2008 to train with Brian Orser. As his favorite pupil, the figure skater has won numerous medals, cementing his image as a rising athlete. Adam Rippon was featured in Skating magazine in 2015. In December 2021, he married Jussi-Pekka Kajaala, whom he had met since 2018. They met on a dating app in 2017. at a skating competition in Finland. In an Instagram post, the Celebrity Name That Tune contestant revealed about her wedding.
He declared:
“We got married, surprise, surprise. One day JP and I looked at each other and said the famous romance, ‘let’s do it now.’ That’s what we did.”
Adam told People magazine that the couple always wanted to do something private and intimate for their wedding. He went on to say that he feels like everyone knows he’s going to do it and no one knows if he’ll get a “warning.”
Then he said:
“We probably don’t even realize that we’re promoting ourselves. You know, we’re unpredictable.”
Adam Rippon retired from figure skating in November 2018 after winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. That same year, the athlete won Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars. with Jenna Johnson. Since retiring, he has starred in numerous television shows, including Will and Grace and RuPaul’s Drag Race, and currently co-hosts MTV’s Messyness. She’ll now be on Celebrity Name That Tune, which will air on FOX on Wednesday, January 11, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
