STAYC Cancelled All Their Upcoming Activities After The Four Members Tested Positivefor COVID

STAYC’s forthcoming events, including the group’s first fan meetup named Stay Cool Party, will be canceled after four members tested positive for COVID-19. STAYC will not be participating in the 2022 Ulsan Summer Festival or Show! Music Core. High UP Entertainment, the female group’s agency, reported on August 9, 2022, that member J proved negative during the PCR test on August 8. J, on the other hand, tested positive for a quick antigen test after experiencing bodily discomfort. STAYC members Sumin, Sieun, Seeun, and Isa tested positive for COVID-19 on August 8.

On August 9, the group’s agency also announced that member Yoon had tested negative once again. COVID-19 incidents are growing in South Korea, and the government has enacted many restrictions to ensure residents’ protection. STAYC postponed its inaugural fan meetup, which supporters had been looking forward to for a long time, due to COVID-19.

Because the group rose to prominence in such a short period of time, a fan gathering was originally scheduled for August 13, 2022. Fans will have to wait till the situation improves, according to the K-pop group’s agency, and the agency will post the revised itinerary shortly.

After the four members tested positive for COVID-19, STAYC’s organization published a statement.

HIGHUP Entertainment said on August 8, 2022, that group member Sieun had a slight sore throat and tested positive using a self-test kit. The other members tested negative using self-test kits, according to the agency. However, the members also underwent PCR testing, and Sumin, Seeun, and Isa all tested positive. J and Yoon’s PCR tests were due to be completed shortly at the moment. The members of the gang were immunized three times. Members are now quarantined due to positive COVID-19 tests and are according to official health restrictions.

HIGH-UP Entertainment also apologized to the girl group’s fans for the unfortunate news, stating that the agency will prioritize the health of the group member. Recently, the group has been dealing with health concerns. Isa, a group member, announced on July 31 that she would be unable to engage in group activities owing to an ankle ailment. According to the agency, Isa damaged her right ankle while preparing for her planned activities and was receiving treatment.

As a consequence, the group’s management vowed to watch after the artist’s health, and none of the members appeared in the episode of SBS’s Inkigayo. With the exception of Isa, the members were still slated to attend the autograph event and the taping for MBC’s program Idol Star Athletics Championships.
