Season 9 of Love Island will kick off in January and will introduce a new group of singles on a journey to South Africa in search of their perfect love. The series will return for the first time since 2020, and fans are excited to see it again. Tanya Mahenga, a 22-year-old biology student who has been waiting to complete her studies, is one of the contestants to appear. Season 9 of Love Island UK will premiere on ITV2 on Monday, January 16, at 9:00pm ET.

The ninth season of Love Island will have ten contestants go to a luxury villa in South Africa, where the climate makes winter like summer. Tanya Manhenga, a 22-year-old biomedical science student from Liverpool, is one of the contestants to appear on the show. The candidate was so determined to appear on the show and find love that she decided to postpone her studies.
In an interview with Metro UK, she said that she plans to continue her degree after Love Island. Tanya wants to work in the field of embryology, which is mainly related to IVF (in vitro fertilization). She said she wanted to help people have children.
She said in her interview:
“It’s the only job I really want because it gives me the greatest satisfaction; I want to stand up and say, ‘This helps’.” I will definitely go there.”

The Love Island participant only had one semester left, and her mother supported her desire to join the program and then continue her education. Tanya added that her mother was relieved that she almost finished her degree as she would not like it if she stopped halfway. She was afraid that Tanya would be certain of her choice, but when she learned how little money was left, she supported and accepted.
According to Mahenga’s ITV profile, she fell in love early and wanted to be treated like a princess. She also keeps her card on her chest. Mahenga describes herself as impulsive, vibrant and confident. She went on to say:
“I’m pretty agreeable, but don’t let that fool you. I want to be friends with everyone, but if you get cheeky, I’m the kind of person who will return the favor.”

Mahenga told ITV she is looking for a relationship and that being on Love Island with different individuals will help her understand what she wants in a life partner. Tanya admitted to Bustle that her ideal type is “moderately pretty”.
