Mehreen Karim, a 27-year-old chef, will make her debut as a Next Level Chef after Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, February 12. Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais will appear on Fox’s competition series. They will act as mentors to 18 chefs competing for the $250,000 grand prize and one-year mentoring with all three legendary chefs.
Next Level Chef Season 2 reintroduces a three-level cooking phase, with ingredients and tasks tailored to each level and a team of chef mentors overseeing a skilled mix of home chefs, Chain chefs, food delivery entrepreneurs and social media stars.
According to Fox, the official synopsis for the second season of Next Level Chef is as follows:
“Next Level Chef, produced by Studio Ramsay Global and FOX Alternative Entertainment, is the next evolution in cooking competitions, with Ramsay creating a one-of-a-kind cooking competition set on a iconic stage you’ve never seen before. Each floor of the three-story building has an extremely diverse cuisine.”
The summary goes on to say:
“Ramsay and his mentors won’t miss a beat as they recruit and take on a team of promising chefs, along with two of the top names in the culinary industry, Chefs Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais. As people try to define ‘the one’, Ramsay and his friends try to bring out the best in their chefs.”
Contestants will be challenged to make the most of the resources provided to climb from the lowest basement to the lavish top floor to face the toughest culinary challenge ever.

In Season 2 of Next Level Chef, Chef Mehreen Karim will be mentored by Chef Richard Blais. The first to join The Next Level Chef is a freelance recipe creator, writer, editor, and photographer from Auburn, Alabama. According to LinkedIn, the reality star, known to fans as Reenie, graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Business and International Relations in 2017 and will complete a Master’s degree in Public Health. Season 2 of FOX’s Next Chef
Mehreen Karim will join 17 other contestants who will battle her out to see who is the most deserving chef. Chef Richard Blais, who rose to prominence in Top Chef as a Season 4 runner-up and winner of Top Chef: All-Stars, will coach Karim. He is a frequent guest judge on many Food Network series. He is the owner and manager of The Crack Shack, Juniper & Ivy and Four Flamingos.
Blais will join Chef Gordon Ramsay from MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen, as well as Chef Nyesha Arrington, who appeared on Top Chef and Chef Hunter 2011.
