The world’s most famous magician Lance Burton will soon return to television as a judge on Criss Angel’s Magic With the Stars. The first season of the show will premiere on The CW on October 22, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Along with two other judges, Criss Angel and Loni Love, he will evaluate the performance of famous contestants on the show. The summary of the show is as follows:
“Celebrity contestants are challenged to learn three key areas of magic, which they perform in front of a panel of three judges: Criss Angel (“Criss Angel MINDFREAK,” “AMYSTIKA,” “RAW”), who Emmy(R) award-winning comedian Loni Love (“E ! News”) and master magician Lance Burton.”

Lance Burton is a magician born and raised from Louisville, Kentucky. Contemporaries considered him the best stage magician of the last century. Furthermore, before retiring in 2010, he performed in front of more than 5,000,000 people in over 15,000 events in Las Vegas. When Burton was five, his mother took him to a Christmas party with magician Harry Collins as a performance. While there, he volunteered for The Miser’s Dream, a magical location where Collins obtained silver dollars from Burton’s ear. Burton was immediately captivated and drawn to the magic show. Since then, there has been no return. As for Burton’s magical adventure, its official website says:
“When a neighbor heard about his passion, she gave him a book called Magic Made Easy that her (then grown) children still use.” He had 10 techniques, all of which were quickly mastered by Burton. His first gig was for local kids for a penny.
Collins became Burton’s mentor when he was a teenager. Under his guidance and mentorship, Burton learned “the fundamentals and skills of dexterity, as well as the proper handling of the cards.” Burton spent a considerable part of his research perfecting the art of deception. Furthermore, due to his incredible knowledge in this profession, he was nicknamed the “Magician of the Magician”.
Burton took first place as a young magician in his first competition as a junior magician at the 1977 convention. He was the first to receive the prestigious Gold Medal of Excellence. of the International Society of Magicians in 1980. On July 10, 1982, he won the Grand Prix, making him the World Champion Magician. Furthermore, the magician has received several awards and recognitions during his career. Lance Burton was honored with the “Magic Cloak” by Master Magician Lee Grabel on May 12, 1994, making Lance a new member of the Royal Magical Court. Bill and Milt Larsen immediately invited him to their annual It’s Magic show after he moved to Southern California.

“made his national television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on October 28, 1981.”
He was later featured on shows like David Letterman, Jay Leno, The View, Craig Ferguson, The World’s Greatest Magic, Hollywood Squares, and even made guest appearances on Knight Rider and Las Vegas. Burton has his own NBC show, LANCE BURTON MASTER MAGICIAN; THE LEGEND STARTS, 1996 A series of annual TV specials soon followed. The magician then presented shows for Discovery, Animal Planet, The Family Channel and The History Channel, among others.
