Who Is April Clayton From “Next Level Chef” Season 2?

The next level chef is back with a new season of culinary challenges. The second season of the series will premiere on Fox on Sunday, February 12 at 10:30 p.m. ET. Like last season, in the new season, the chefs will have to perform for their mentors and try to impress them with their delicious dishes. The judges/mentors for this season are Richard Blais, Nyesha Arrington and Gordon Ramsay.

April Clayton, a 39-year-old chef, was one of 18 chefs competing for the $250,000 grand prize and was apprenticed to a mentor. She was born in Henderson, Tennessee and currently lives in Muscle Shoals. Clayton is a member of Team Nyesha Arrington and the owner of Southern Skillet Catering.

Next-level chef contestant April Clayton begins her culinary adventure with lasagna.

While nothing is known about April Clayton’s personal life, she has been open about her catering company. According to the Southern Skillet Catering website, April enjoyed helping her grandmother in the kitchen as a child and began to notice it more in herself as she grew up and had children of her own.

In 2016, she gave lasagna to her children’s school for Teachers’ Day, according to the Times Daily. The lasagna was a huge success, prompting several other instructors to pay her extra if she delivered. April was motivated to go to the Florentine Culinary Center and start her own home cooking business. Not long after, she decided to take on a job as a wedding caterer and rented a 900 square meter shop space on Monday Street.

April’s husband also quit his job to help manage Southern Skillet Catering. Clayton has performed at nearly 200 weddings since 2022. According to the news, she enjoys serving clients who “started as take-out customers”. The female chef also said she has encountered many “challenges and difficulties” in the process of building her company.

Mentors Richard Blais, Nyesha Arrington and Gordon Ramsay will evaluate Next Level Chefs, each mentoring six chefs in an effort to bring out the best in them. In each episode, the chefs will have to perform in three separate kitchens, each with their own set of conditions and obstacles as they attempt to create a “next level kitchen”. The winner of the culinary competition will receive a $250,000 cash prize, as well as a year of mentorship with the jury.
