Nicola Hillard posted to the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group on social media to share a photo of her son in a striped top, writing: “Ok I’m the only female in the house, 2 teens and my husband.

“I see green, dark green, bottle green, whatever. Everyone else says black??????

“Really? You think they’re kidding!”

He later returned to the post to add two more photos from the top, of Nutmeg at Morrisons, from different angles, writing: “Added 2 more photos taken that day.

– They still say black.

In the comments section of the post, people were divided on the color of the top.

“Dark green!” one person wrote.

“But my husband first said black, then ‘maybe a very, very dark green? But as close to black as possible.'”

“I see Green too,” wrote another. “I also have this in my house. I always see it differently.”

“Probably depends on the lighting…” someone else wrote.

“The first one and this image is green, the second one looks darker like black with the exception of the necklace, so it looks green… so it must look different because of the lighting.

“You’re not going to lose your head!”

“That’s how my friend found out I was color blind, he always wore shirts but then he said different colors and one day I told him I was color blind and he never believed me until he got into the army and that’s how he found out,” read another comment.

“I see dark green, I sent this photo to a colorblind friend and he said black!”

And someone else chimed in, writing: “I think, like other kinds of animals, humans can’t see certain shades and colors. I agree it’s green.”

While another added: “My husband first thought of green and then black.

“My daughter says it’s because the brain can’t see black, so it tricks you into seeing green.”
