Trayce Jackson Davis News

Trayce Jackson-Davis will play with Steph Curry the next season after earning a first-team All-American nod during his senior year at Indiana. With the 57th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draught, the Washington Wizards selected Jackson-Davis, who was later traded to the Warriors along with his draught rights. Trayce Jackson-Davis had to wait longer than anticipated before joining the Golden State Warriors.

Jackson-Davis was taken by the Washington Wizards with the 57th overall choice in the 2023 NBA Draught on Thursday night at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, and later traded his draught rights to the Warriors.

Jackson-Davis was originally expected to go late in the first round of the draught, but he fell to No. 57 overall, the penultimate pick. Jackson-Davis’ home-state team, the Indiana Pacers, repeatedly passed on him, but he’s anxious to disprove those people.

Thursday night, Jackson-Davis tweeted, “Y’all will regret it.” “I swear to you.”

With recent NBA titles in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022, Jackson-Davis joins a Golden State squad. Along with Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and two-time MVP Steph Curry, the Warriors are led by these players.

With this selection, Indiana now has eight players in the NBA, including Victor Oladipo (Miami Heat), Cody Zeller (Miami Heat), Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers), Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Lakers), Thomas Bryant (Denver Nuggets), Jackson-Davis (Golden State Warriors), and Langford (San Antonio Spurs).

Last year, Jackson-Davis was a prominent player in college basketball. During his senior year, he was named to the consensus first-team All-American. Following his sophomore and junior years, he entered the NBA Draught, but his draught status was raised as a senior after making significant progress under coach Mike Woodson.

Jackson-Davis carried the Hoosiers in 2022–23 with his typical dominance in the paint, significantly better ball-handling and passing, and all-around superior play. He shot 58.1 percent overall and 69.5 percent from the line from the free throw line, averaging 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 blocks per game. Jackson-Davis would have been a strong candidate for both National and Big Ten Player of the Year if Zach Edey of Purdue hadn’t played.

He finished third on Indiana’s all-time scoring chart, behind Steve Alford and Calbert Cheaney, while Jackson-Davis graduated Indiana as the school’s all-time leader in rebounding and blocked shots. He was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive team twice, the Big Ten All-Tournament team twice, and the All-Big Ten team four times in total.
