Stranger Things Star Responds To Millie Bobby Brown’s Bad Kisser Claims

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard responds to Millie Bobby Brown’s claims that he’s a lousy kisser. First released on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things follows a group of teens as they fight off a group of monsters from an alternate dimension called the Upside Down. The show, which is created by Matt and Ross Duffer, returned for season 4 earlier last year, quickly becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched offerings. Mike (Wolfhard), Eleven (Brown), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp), Max (Sadie Sink), Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Hopper (David Harbour), and the rest of the gang are all expected to return in Stranger Things season 5, which will serve as the show’s last.

Brown revealed in a previous interview that Wolfhard is a “lousy kisser” when asked about their kissing scenes on Stranger Things, and, in a recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Wolfhard now responds to his costar’s claims.

Wolfhard admits that, as a 12-year-old filming Stranger Things season 1, Brown was his first on-screen kiss and he wasn’t totally sure what he was doing. The actor is evidently fine with joking about the experience now, sharing that he probably would’ve been just as bad had the kiss been off-screen. Check out Wolfhard’s full comment below:

“You know what, I was fine with it. I don’t know, it was one of those things where the first, it’s just an interesting thing when you have to, like… My first on-screen kiss was with Millie, but I didn’t know how to approach that in any way. There was no just like, ‘You’re gonna do this thing, and at the end of the take, you’re gonna kiss her.’ And then so I just, like, almost headbutted her… The romantic way of putting it was that I headbutted her, but I was twelve, so, you know. I probably would have done the same thing if I was not on screen in front of the entire world.”

What’s Next For Mike and Eleven In Stranger Things Season 5

Stranger Things season 4 ends on a fairly major cliffhanger with the town of Hawkins, Indiana, becoming ground zero for an Upside Down incursion into the real world. Eleven may have defeated Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) at the end of the season, but the villain will most certainly be back and looking for revenge in the upcoming batch of episodes. With the Mind Flayer also seemingly back, Stranger Things season 5 is already looking like it will test Eleven and her superpowers like never before. With such great odds stacked against Eleven herself, it remains to be seen how her relationship will Mike will continue to evolve.

Mike and Eleven experience some relationship troubles at the beginning of Stranger Things season 4 due to the latter’s relocation to California. The distance between them and Mike’s inability to tell Eleven that he loves her ultimately causes friction between the two, but Mike eventually declares his true feelings for Brown’s character towards the end of the season. Mike and Eleven’s relationship is reinvigorated at this point, meaning the two could enter Stranger Things season 5 from a position of power. Mike’s declaration of love for Eleven, however, unknowingly cuts Will very deeply since Will is essentially revealed to be in love with Wolfhard’s character.

It’s unclear how Mike and Eleven’s relationship will continue to change in Stranger Things season 5, but the two are clearly stronger together than apart. It’s Mike’s declaration of love, after all, that ultimately gives Eleven the strength she needs to defeat Vecna in season 4. It’s unclear whether the two characters will still be together when the season starts since there is expected to be a time jump, but with such powerful enemies bearing down on Hawkins, all of the key Stranger Things characters will seemingly need to rely on each other like never before.
