Stephen Greif, a famous actor, died on December 23 at the age of 78. Stephen Greif was born on August 26, 1944, worked in various professions before starting a successful career in the entertainment industry. He worked as a troubleshooter for a TV and radio manufacturer, and as a negotiator for a small West End real estate company. His work at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the National Theater Company and the Peter’s Hall Company made him famous. He has appeared in many plays including A Woman Killed with Kindness, Long Days Journey into Night, The School for Scandal, Macbeth and others. He has appeared in popular plays such as Death of a Salesman, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, among others.
After a successful stage career, he began acting in films and television shows such as Woman in Gold, Shoot on Sight, Boogie Woogie, Faker, Mistresses, Howard’s Way, Alienist: Angel of Darkness, New Tricks and Dr. Stephen Greif is known for his contributions to video games such as The Witcher and Puppeteer. He also wrote 15 films about the royal family, including Andrew Lord Louis Mountbatten and Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery. A native of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, he attended Sloane Grammar School before enrolling at Regent Street Polytechnic. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and a recipient of numerous awards.
His last acting job was as Sir Bernard Weatherill, Speaker of the House of Commons, in the fourth season of Netflix’s historical drama series The Crown. The show was created by Peter Morgan and aired for 5 seasons with 50 episodes starting on November 4, 2016. The latest season aired on November 9, 2022. He is also known as Ron Dent. in the ITV series Coronation Street. Greif made her television debut in 1996 as Brian Lassiter in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Stephen’s twins, Joseph and Daniel, outlive him. He lives in Richmond, London.
