Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the online summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) today. The meeting comes at a very important time, especially when the country’s relations with China and Pakistan are strained.
Meaning of the meeting

Through this event, Russian President Vladimir Putin will see that Russia’s influence and importance has been reduced due to the war. This was evident at the last meeting of the SCO in Samarkand last year. Maybe this will send a message to Russia that the war will have to end soon.

Over the past 20 years or so, relations between India and the US have grown steadily, but the visit will strengthen those ties. Furthermore, India’s participation in the SCO summit will strengthen its strategic autonomy.
