Image, called Vivid Spheres 9includes eight dots with lines through them that look like circles of different colors.

But the professor explained that the color of the dots does not actually differ at all.

He wrote in the index of his illusions: “The orbs appear to be orange and blue, but are actually identical, base color RGB 220, 255, 187.

“Reduction increases performance.”

Another image created by Novick in 2018 called Confetti took the internet by storm, garnering thousands of retweets and likes.

Novick previously explained that “Munker” illusions appear due to horizontal stripes that have different colors and crossed circles, which is commonly known as the Munker-White illusion.

“The Munker illusion seems to be a function of the framing colors, which tend to tint the center [shape],” He said.

“The apparent color of the center circle is a mixture of the color of the foreground frame and the color of the circle.”

Novick regularly shares his optical illusions on Twitter and archives them on a public website.

Other optical illusions, including a debate over whether dad and daughter wear green or blue, have divided the internet.

Another illusion can supposedly reveal a secret about your personality.
