Maddy Pomilla was the first on Survivor 44 to be written out of the series this season. She is a self-proclaimed “adventure junkie” who quit her job to participate in the series. Her search for something new and pushing herself to the limit are some of the reasons why she joined the cast of Survivor 44.
She said Parade.com, “But while I’m here, I’m starting to wonder, ‘Is there more? What is really driving this? Because it’s number one on my list. What makes it number one? Why have I been obsessed with this series for 21 years? So that’s a question I’m still looking for an answer to. But the short answer is I’m just an adventure junkie and super competitive.”
As for who she identified with, she said Cirie (the winner) and Parvati (the non-winner). Maddy added that growing up in an all-female household prepared her for the competition. She credited all four of her sisters for pushing her “to be better, faster, stronger, and they gave me a lot of confidence to face anything. And that’s how I would say I’m growing up with my daughters.”
When it comes to how people would perceive her, Maddy described herself as “very outgoing and outgoing.” She said that she was a threat. Rather than vote now to secure an additional vote in the future, Lauren Harpe decided to use her new “Bank a Vote” benefit. Then Matthew started playing his Shot in the Dark. The worry naturally scared Brandon, who then used his idol to thwart Maddy’s plan. She was voted out by just one vote in the craziest first Tribal Council in Survivor history, the result of all the chaos from the two-hour Season 44 premiere.
On being the third person voted 1-0 in America survivedand the first person to do so at the First Tribal Council he spoke to parade. He added: “I knew if I didn’t go all the way, I would go like this whenever the time came.” I will not go down without a fight. I spun toward the stands, probably always intending to plunge the sword into my own stomach, and somehow it happened. This is the first time this has happened in survived history.”
Maddy concluded the post: “And I’m not surprised it helped fuel that. I am a great fan. I knew what I was doing. And if we had done what everyone else wanted to do, then it would still be there. But also, we would never have that show. But that never happens to me. So I feel good about that.”
