Love Island couple in shock split as star says she's 'gutted our journey has come to an end'

LOVE Island couple Mitchel Taylor and Ella Barnes have called time on their romance.

Ella, 23, and Mitch, 27, broke the news today to fans just weeks after leaving the villa together – with Ella admitting she was “gutted” it couldn’t work.

During their time on Love Island and since leaving the pair have been plagued by ‘showmance’ rumours.

But, they had been putting on a united front – travelling from Sheffield to Kent to see each other.

In a post today, Ella wrote: “Just wanted to come on here and keep you all updated, as you deserve to know as I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

“Unfortunately myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out and I’m gutted that our journey has come to an end.

“I wish Mitch all the best and hope he finds happiness. It’s time for both of us to start a new chapter.

“Thank you so much for all the love and support. It means the world to me.”

Mitch added in his own post: “Morning everyone. As you have most likely seen Ella’s post, sadly out relationship has come to an end.

“We had no intentions of ending, but with our busy lives at the moment and living the other side of the country made it extremely hard for it to work.

“I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world.”

Mitch, 27 and Ella, were dumped from the Love Island villa just before the final after they were voted least compatible by the other islanders.

It had been a rollercoaster of a journey for the pair who became serious after Mitch finally decided to put an end to things with Abi Moores to pursue Ella.

Abi was initially coupled up with Mitch during their time in the Love Island villa – before Ella B stole him.

However, recently Abi has insisted things aren’t what they seem.

She said: “I do think there is still something there with Mitch – he’s still quite flirty, and very close and friendly with me, when I’ve seen him out at events.

“I think Ella B is a bit threatened by me saying that we had a better connection – but I’m not going to lie.”

Kady McDermott also made it clear she thought the couple were fake after she left the show.

She said on a podcast: “Ella B and Mitch is fake from both sides. But in the villa we are with each other every second of the day, we know if there’s genuine connections or not, them two are faking it.”
