Love During Lockdown star Dauri and his girlfriend Emily have been quiet about their relationship. However, fans believed that the two made it through after all because Dauri was looking for someone to help him get out of jail. Plus, Emily was working on her law degree. That could mean a lot of money and a comfortable lifestyle once he’s released.
But on the other hand, it seemed to viewers that Emily only saw dollar signs in their relationship. Otherwise, why would he overlook her betrayal? Some even claimed that Emily caught her boyfriend from prison. And Emily’s excuse of not wanting to see Dauri in person, even after 3 years of long distance, certainly didn’t help her case.
According to Daura, he just didn’t get the chance. The first two years were either due to Covid restrictions or because Dauri was only allowed to see immediate family. But for the third year, he had no excuse. No restrictions prevented her from visiting Dauri, but he never met him in person!
Therefore, it is only natural that she would be seen as suspicious, hiding something from Dauri, including her true identity.
Also, viewers bet on the possibility that Emily had already spent all of Dauri’s money. And it is partially true. In the episode Lockdown Love, Emily went shopping for a new engagement ring because she believes she deserves an “upgrade”.

Emily even puts off Dauri’s business after getting an unusual call from one of her boy’s old roommates, Smoke. She said that she was supposed to pick up some cash from Dauri and she immediately hung up on him saying that she had no idea what she was talking about.
Although Dauri’s girlfriend shut Smoke down, she gave her bunkie Storm $200 to invest in the business. But that doesn’t mean he liked her at all. In fact, she can’t stand Storm and has repeatedly put him down. Also, a heated argument between Emily and Storm led viewers to believe that Emily might be hiding something.
In flashback, Dauri and Emily first met when she clicked on a prison pen pal ad. She chose Dauri from the list of men because she found him the most attractive. After that, the two exchanged letters and soon fell in love.
However, it seems Emily wasn’t the only one Dauri sent letters to. When caught, Dauri explained that he was only pretending to be this mysterious woman’s boyfriend in exchange for money. And just like that, they were great again.
But Emily didn’t forgive him without reason. She bragged that she had Dauri’s money and claimed that she would “con a con man” if Dauri thought he was after her.
