James Bay and Lucy Smith, who are expecting their first child, Ada Violet, in October 2021, recently married. Bay shared a couple of photos from the wedding when announcing the news. The first was a black-and-white photograph of Bay and Smith walking together as confetti falls from the sky and Smith seemed to be shouting in delight. In the second photograph, the pair glanced at one other against a backdrop of low summer light and a few trees. The caption is as follows:

Lucy Smith works as a music promoter.
For the time being, nothing is known about Lucy Smith’s personal life. So far, the only information available about Smith is that she works as a music promoter in London. Smith rose to prominence as James Bay’s longstanding love, and the two had been together since Bay was 17 years old. Smith, according to Bay, motivated him to pursue a career in music and is the greatest guy on the planet. Before they were romantically involved, they were good friends. In addition, Bay stated:
“Back in the day, we’d be sitting home on a Wednesday night watching TV, and she’d say, ‘Hang on, if you want to be a great artist one day, surely you should be out in some bar or club performing some songs right now,’” she recalls. She ingrained that in me, and I went ahead and accomplished it. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for her.”
Bay released his song, One Life, in May 2022, which detailed the path of him and Smith falling in love and raising their kid together. James said that he and Lucy grew up in the same town and that keeping their connection quiet was crucial to them. One Life, he said, is a celebration of their journey so far.
A Look Into James Bay’s Career
In July 2013, James Bay released his first EP, The Dark of the Morning, followed by his second EP, Let It Go, in May 2014. The latter dominated the iTunes album chart as well as the UK charts. In December 2014, James published his debut studio album, Chaos and the Calm, and his song, Hold Back the River, was trending in the UK charts. In January 2015, he released his fourth EP, Other Sides, and recorded covers for Hey Bulldog and King’s Highway.
Electric Light, the 31-year-second old’s album, was released in May 2018, and the album’s tracks were immediate hits. Oh My Messy Mind, his third EP, was published in May 2019, and he began production on his third studio album in spring 2020. Chew On My Heart, his next song will be released in July 2020.
