His breed has been banned in Britain for decades but owner Marlon Greenan says he knows Hulk’s kids and grandkids have been illegally exported to the UK.

He says it’s easy for rogue dealers to ship banned dogs into the country and believes the Government will struggle to block imports of dangerous XL Bullys behind a spate of savage deaths.

American Marlon, who breeds protection dogs, has previously come under fire for allowing his children to wear bite sleeves to train his colossal canines when they were just six and two.

Marlon, who trains protection dogs in in New Hampshire, said: “I have a large fan base in the UK and people will message me saying we’ve seen such and such a dog, so I know that Hulk’s grandchildren are in the UK and maybe even one or two of his direct kids.

“I’ve never sent my dogs to the UK myself. There’s no way I would send a pit bull to a country where they are banned.

“But the bottom line is you can’t stop specific breeds getting into Britain because there will always be people who break the rules.”

Current government regulations say dogs coming into the UK from America must be micro-chipped, vaccinated against rabies and have a vets’ certificate stating its breed.

But Marlon said law-breakers easily get around the rules.

He said: “It’s a lot easier than you would assume. It’s quite simple. The dog just comes with paperwork that says it’s something else other than a pit bull or XL.

“Breed-specific bans just don’t work. If people want to break the law and get these animals into the country then they will.

“A lot of people just want to get rich from dogs.

“The Government needs to take the money it will use to enforce the ban and use it to educate people on how to raise their dogs properly.”

His comments come after XL Bully dogs claimed another British victim this week.

A man in Sunderland was mauled to death by a giant beast whose owner is being quizzed by murder cops.

The victim has been named locally as Ian Langley, 54, a father of one, who had been out walking his Patterdale terrier puppy, Beau.

Witnesses said the powerful animal bit Mr Langley’s neck as he bent down to pick up Beau on Tuesday evening.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed to ban XLs by the end of the year after a string of deaths including that of 10-year-old Jack Lis in 2021, who was so badly injured he had to be identified by his shoe.

Marlon, who runs DarkDynastyK9s, said: “It’s a horrible situation. I couldn’t imagine losing one of my children like that, but the fault lies with the owners, not the breed of dog.

“It might sound harsh or cruel but we can’t worry about padding around people’s feelings. We need to tell the truth.  Around 40 percent of people who own these XLs probably should not have them.”

Savage history

Pit bull terriers were banned in Britain under the Dangerous Dogs Act in 1991 following a string of attacks.

But critics of the law say identifying them has proved difficult and led to hundreds of owners having their dogs wrongly impounded.

Marlon, who has almost 800,000 Instagram followers, claims pit bulls and XLs originate from the same type of fighting dogs.

He said: “At their core, the American bully and the pit bull are the same dog.

“Some people will say that’s not the case but before 1980, when people started creating ‘standards’ for dogs,  they were all classed the same thing.

“You can’t get away from the fact they were bred for performance and derived from fighting dogs, as disgusting as that sounds because I am totally against them fighting.”

Marlon, 36, and wife Lisa, 33, have allowed Hulk and his gigantic offspring to lick, cuddle and sleep with their sons Jordan, 11, and seven-year-old Jackson.

The mammoth creature is worth a fortune because of his size.

He costs £50,000 to hire at stud and has sired 250 pups over 10 years, which sell for around £30,000 each.

Marlon and Lisa, who currently have 30 dogs, allowed their boys to train with Hulk when they were just seven and two, encouraging the huge animal to ‘bite’ them while they wore a protective sleeve.

Marlon said: “We trust the dogs with the kids because they’ve been with them since the boys were babies – and our dogs are raised properly.

“About 90 percent of people in this world don’t understand that dogs need structure, rules and boundaries.

“Just because you have a dog doesn’t mean you know anything about them. I have electricity but I’m not an electrician.

“A lot of dogs attack in the family home and there’s a reason for that. People don’t build structure around their pets and know that they need rules. You have to teach and train them and condition them properly.

“It’s like having kids. You can have parents who have completely militant rules for their children, but treat their ‘cute’ little puppy like a baby, turning it into a ticking time bomb.

“Humanising a dog is extremely dangerous. Little gateway things can lead to bad behaviour, like allowing them to jump up on people or get over-excited when they see their lead.

“Most people reward all the wrong behaviours. When a dog gets scared or anxious they pat them and tell them ‘it’s okay, it’s okay’.  They are rewarding the dog for being in that state of mind by comforting it and petting it.”

Wife Lisa adds: “It’s all about how you raise these dogs. Not train them to sit or not pull on a lead, but actually raise them

“My kids could be the most intelligent in the world and know how to do every maths problem, but could be incredibly disrespectful in the home because they’ve got no rules or structure and it’s the same with animals.”

The couple say the reintroduction of dog licences in the UK, which were abolished in 1988, could help the Government track owners and insist they are educated.

Marlon said: “Sadly there will always be people who don’t want to register and are happy to break the law, but it’s a good way to identify who owns a dog and ensure they get the right education.”

Campaigners have been calling for a ban on XL Bully dogs for months but animal welfare groups including the RSPCA, Blue Cross, The Kennel Club and British Veterinary Association say banning specific breeds will not work.

They too want the Government to focus on poor owners rather than ‘bad’ dogs.

Marlon claims XLs are getting a bad reputation because they are associated with drug dealers and ‘hip hop gangsters’

He said: “I’m black, have tattoos and own big dogs which to the outside world appears aggressive, yet I know about the psychology of these dogs. To me, that attitude shows how little people understand about dogs.

“You’re more likely to be attacked by a dog owned by your next door neighbour Suzanne who has pampered her pet, treated it like a baby and given it no boundaries or structure.”
