Most of the time, Pokemon evolve by simply fighting and gaining XP. However, there are some that have special development requirements, such as Gimmighoul. This little treasure-obsessed Pokemon comes in two basic forms, either as a coin-holding Pokemon by itself or hidden in a chest, but you can only capture and evolve the chest form. This is the price you will have to pay if you want to evolve Gimmighoula into Gholdenga.
How to evolve a Gimmighoul into a Gholdenga
The Gimmighoul evolution will require you to spend quite a bit of money.
Step 1 – Collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins. These are obtained by finding any type of Gimmighoul (normal form or chest form) and interacting with or fighting them. Cannot capture normal form. They can usually be found near ruins, bridges, and signs, and will just run away and drop random amounts of coins. Chest Gimmighouls have set spawn points and drop much more coins when captured or defeated, but have less of a chance to respawn each day.
Step 2 – After you get 999 coins, simply level up your Gimmighoul one more time, regardless of what level it is, and it will evolve into Gholdenga. Keep in mind that this will cause you to lose all 999 coins, which means you’ll have to grind them all over again if you want to evolve into another Gimmighoul.
