If you’re looking to upgrade your SimpliSafe home security system, you’ll be pleased to know that most configurations allow you to easily add new sensors. There are actually two different methods you can use: one that adds a single new sensor, or one that adds multiple new sensors.
You can also perform the procedure using your SimpliSafe keyboard or through the SimpliSafe app. Here’s how to add a new sensor to an existing SimpliSafe system.
How to add a new sensor to an existing SimpliSafe system using your keypad.
It only takes a few steps to add a single sensor to your SimpliSafe system. First, open the menu on the keyboard. then go to Devices menu and find add device option. This will guide you through the setup process. If you want to add more sensors, it’s a bit trickier. Is that how it works:
Step 1 – Open the menu.
Step 2: Choose placement and appointment Menu.
Step 3: Using the right rocker, go forward and find Press the button on the device to test and name option.
Step 4 – On the sensor you want to add, press the test button.
Step 5 – Next, give your keyboard sensor a name.
Step 6 – Continue this process until you have added all the sensors to your existing system.
How to add a sensor to SimpliSafe using the smartphone app.
You can add sensors to your system using a web app or a mobile app. If you want to use the web app, just go to the official website and search Devices Menu. then choose Add or name a device to start the process. If you want to use your smartphone, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to my system submenu.
Step 2: Choose device configuration option.
Step 3 – Select the plus icon at the top of the screen to start the process.
How to add a sensor to the original SimpliSafe system
While the steps above work for the new Gen 3 SimpliSafe system, older models must follow a different set of guidelines. If you own a genuine SimpliSafe system and are on a Fast Protect monitoring plan, you can add sensors by going to your online account and searching for settings submenu in Devices Menu. From there you can choose add device to start the process.
If you don’t have a monitoring plan or a standard monitoring plan, you can use your keyboard.
Step 1: Press Menu and enter your PIN.
Step 2: Press 3 button, then press Far button.
Step 3 – Select the device you want to install using Off and Home buttons. press Far radio button
Step 4 – Enter your sensor’s serial number to add it to your configuration.
