Heather Jones was one of the Davidians featured in Waco: American Apocalypse. She grew up in the Branch Davidians complex in downtown Mt. Carmel, as did her parents as a member of the generation. Therefore, she was always surrounded by loved ones, and even the leader of the sect, David Koresh, was her uncle by marriage to her.
“The children were playing in the yard in front of the house. [of the huge property]. We had go-karting there. It was like having… 100 moms.” she remembered.
Unfortunately, the world was turned upside down in 1990 when their mother left after David ended the whole community/marriage concept for them. After his mother’s departure, she was not allowed to be near his father, and David began acting like his only parent.
Unlike David’s extensive sexual relationships with other minors, however, he only hit Heather. “I remember, like, talking to other girls from 10 to maybe 13; they laughed and laughed at being one of the [David’s] a woman one day and have her children… but not me,” he explained. It looks like David would take her to her bedroom, lay her down on her lap, and spank her bottom with a spatula if she tensed up. “He wouldn’t hit me until I was ready for it. [This] It was almost every day,” he added.
This was his daily routine until the siege began on February 28, 1993. Ironically, a fire that broke out the following month (March 5) and killed 82 people became his salvation.
All she remembers now about the morning of that fateful day is that the reporter got lost and asked her dad if they knew where Mount Carmel was. Then he told her what they were doing and then his father went straight to Mount Carmel and told David and warned everyone about it.
Where is Heather Jones today?
Today, Heather Jones still lives in Texas and goes by the name Heather Nicole Burson. She left “Davidism” a long time ago and does not blame anyone for everything that happened.
However, with each passing year, he becomes more and more depressed; especially around March. “It haunts me every day of my life. To this day, I don’t understand why. There were so many other ways to deal with it,” Heather said on the 20th anniversary of the Waco siege.
In addition, he seems to have opposed people who profit from the death of his family. Last we checked, she was lashing out at Ron Cole, who claimed to be a Branch Davidian and former FBI informant. “He’s just a guy who came and became friends with a lot of survivors and one day he decided that he was one of them. He has a completely separate criminal history that is unrelated to the Davids, but he says he is. He’s supposed to be a great aviation artist, but judging by his past and all his lies, I’d be really surprised if he actually painted anything. He only sells ‘prints’ on his website, so I’d bet my left leg they’re only printed online,” she wrote.

Heather Jones was born to parents Kathy and David Jones.
Sadly, her father David died in a fire in April 1993. Heather still has nightmares about that day. “I started having nightmares. I don’t remember what happened, but they were very bad. About David, about the fire. I wanted my dad…I didn’t want to be alone,” she said.
He even paid tribute to her in April 2020 by making a banner with her name and images.
On the other hand, his mother Katherine L Hobizal, who had escaped the cult long ago, was alive and well. She turned 64 in September 2022 and seemed to have a family of her own.
As for his brother, Kevin Jones (born: January 1982) was the co-founder and president of SimpleBills for over 14 years. His company was a full-service utility management company that helped properties drive efficiencies through data-driven decisions.
A Bayon University graduate, Kelvin said he is trying to be a father/stepfather in 2023.
Trivia: Heather and Kelvin’s family home was foreclosed on in July 2020. So, that’s when they asked for donations in any form.
