Golda Rosheuvel’s parents, Judith Evan and Siegfried Rosheuvel, met in Barbados. Siegfried was there for a musical event and Judith was the niece of the then Bishop of Barbados. “Music and acting were always a big part of my life growing up. My parents met while singing together in a choir in Barbados, for example.”
After courting for some time, the couple moved to Guyana in the late 1960s, where Siegfried worked as a missionary. Apparently, they were married in Bartica, where Siegfried’s parents lived. During a series of demanding trips due to her father’s job, Golda was born to her parents in Georgetown, Guyana in 1970. The actress said: “My mom used to tell me stories about my dad going with her and me there when I was a baby and my Mom came back and we would go into the jungle for about two weeks with the tribes and share holy communion for the natives. And there were also baptisms or weddings that were scheduled around her visits.”

It wasn’t easy for them.”
