The 61-year-old was interviewed by Steve Trevino about the OMG Hi! podcast aired on February 6, 2023. The two discussed topics such as Latino humour, TikTok trends, Latino dads and LGBT sons, among others.
[*]Trevino referenced Ralph Barbosa and spoke about helping people gain recognition in the industry, praising Lopez’s legacy and their own success. However, the inclusion of the young comedian’s name in the speech did not please George Lopez, who turned down Barbosa.

[*]”[I’ve never heard of him]”I’m not sure who he is. What country is he from? But no one knows who that fag is, so why are you mentioning him?

[*]He even asked someone off-camera if he was harsh with the 26-year-old comedian.
George Lopez was punished by fans for claiming that no one knew who Ralph Barbosa was.
[*]When Steve Trevino, who seemed annoyed by Lopez’s remarks, expressed a desire to care for others, Lopez said people must take care of themselves. After George Lopez’s comment about Ralph Barbosa went viral, Twitterati punished the comic for making such a comment. Some people remind that Lopez must not forget how he built his career from the ground up. Others chastised him for not promoting the rising Latin comedians and were annoyed by his claims.

Ralph Barbosa is a comedian known for his laid-back wit.
[*]On February 9, Ralph Barbosa responded to Lopez’s claims by posting an identical video on his Instagram profile.
