George Clooney’s Batman Return Gets A Brutally Blunt Response 6 Months After The Flash Cameo

Summary

  • George Clooney dismisses the idea of reprising his Batman role after The Flash.
  • In a straightforward statement, Clooney shuts down speculation about his return as Batman in the DCU and future projects.
  • Clooney’s recent appearance in the DCEU movie does not seem to have changed his stance on playing the iconic superhero again.

George Clooney addresses a possible return as Batman after his role in The Flash. There have been many live-action Batman actors, with Clooney first having played Bruce Wayne in 1997’s Batman & Robin, which was far from universally beloved. While the actor’s solo entry was not among the best Batman movies, Clooney surprisingly returned as Bruce Wayne for a cameo in DC’s The Flash movie, which seemed to leave the door open for another appearance in the future.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Clooney gave a very blunt response to his possible return as Batman in a future project after his recent return in the DCEU movie.

The actor started by making fun of the fact that he returned as Bruce Wayne in the DC movie even though his version was not the most loved by fans. When asked about a possible future role as Batman after The Flash, Clooney quickly shot down the idea, bluntly stating, “There’s enough drugs in the world for me to go back there.” Check out the exchange below:

“Clooney: Well, I thought, there was such a clamor for me to come back as Batman.

Interviewer: Could they convince you again?

Clooney Jokes About Schumacher’s Controversial Rubber Bat-Nipples

The infamous Bat-Nipples seen in Batman & Robin in a close-up shot.

During the quick interview, Clooney also poked fun at the Batsuit he wore in director Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin. Clooney’s Batsuit became infamous for its protruding nipples, which looked extremely out of place and goofy for the Dark Knight. The actor mentioned the infamous Bat-nipples by saying, “I actually said, ‘Where are my rubber nipples?‘”

Clooney proceeded to joke about how the team behind The Flash thought it was not a good idea, saying, “Can we do without the rubber nipples?” Clooney then continued, saying, “Well, that is not really my Batman, is it?” Obviously, the actor never really tried to bring back the controversial Bat-nipples but was rather making fun of one of the most debated elements of any live-action Batman iteration ever.

In the end, there was not even room for Clooney’s Bat-nipples in the movie. The actor only appeared in a different kind of suit, with his Bruce Wayne meeting Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen. Clooney’s cameo in The Flash was used as a fun moment to end the movie, and with the new DC Universe closing the chapter on the DCEU, the cameo should be the last time Clooney will play Batman, with Robert Pattinson and the actor cast for the DCU carrying the torch for him.
