Bertie Gregory, BAFTA Award-winning filmmaker and National Geographic wildlife explorer, brings the five-part series, Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory, to Disney+. The series will take viewers on exciting and thrilling adventures in the most fascinating and mysterious parts of the animal world on Earth. The archives will be available on Disney+ on September 8, 2022 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The official synopsis for Epic Adventures With Bertie Gregory is as follows:
“Equipped with state-of-the-art video equipment, National Geographic’s Epic Adventures With Berties Gregory breaks the mold of conventional nature programming by delivering breathtaking, realistic animal stories that immerse viewers in every beat of the action.”
It continued:
“This season, we’ll see Bertie bravely traversing the frigid waters of Antarctica in search of the largest school of whales ever seen, as well as meeting lions on a professional bison hunt in Zambia. It will take fans on an ambitious journey across the globe in this multi-part adventure series that depicts the natural world as it faces its greatest challenges.”
Future series creators are Welcome to Earth by James Brickell, as well as Hugh Pearson, Susie Povey, Parker Brown, George Pagliero, and Will West. Additionally, BAFTA and Emmy Award winners Vanessa Berlowitz (Planet Earth) and Anwar Mamon serve as executive producers for Wildstar Films (Life at the Waterhole). The documentary has been renewed for a second season, which is in the works.

Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory, a new documentary series that premieres on Disney+ on September 8, focuses on the adventure, strength, and perseverance of the wildlife cameraman on his research trips. The five-part documentary series follows Bertie Gregory, a 29-year-old National Geographic explorer, as he captures secret corners of the world. From Antarctica to Zambia and everywhere in between, the award-winning director shows audiences his cutting-edge technology and capabilities behind the camera, while providing an up-close look at Earth’s amazing animals.
Bertie Gregory is said to have credited his work and the extraordinary journey that documentaries have taken him on,
“I’ve been behind the scenes of hybrid animal shows for a while. But to do it at this scale, with this ambition and really aim for behavior and spectacle like the most colorful natural history presentations – that’s huge.”

According to the promotional videos and official description, wildlife enthusiasts can expect Bertie Gregory to take them on a journey through the remote forests of Zambia, the tropical islands of Costa Rica and the icy tundra of Antarctica as he captures wildlife such as lions, hammerhead sharks and leopards. The range of unexpected encounters it records is perhaps more impressive than the locations and creatures. Gregory captures pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins frolicking and cuddling for the first time in a wildlife movie. He’s also paddled through crocodile-infested forests, seen a herd of buffalo fighting proud lions, and seen one of the largest pods of whales ever seen in Antarctica.
Epic adventures with Bertie Gregory take you behind the scenes to see the equipment and techniques he uses to make the perfect movie. The series will also feature his underwater motorcycle rides, his use of a “respirator”, military diving equipment that allows him to stay longer than usual, and the advanced drone technology used to capture eagles in aerial hunts.
