A DISCOUNT brand is set to disappear from the high street forever after it was bought by Home Bargains.
The Quality Save brand will eventually be replaced by its new parent company.

It means some of the brand’s shops will have to shut to undergo refurbishment and a rebrand.
TJ Morris, owner of Home Bargains, can’t currently confirm the exact dates for these changes “due to landlord negotiations”.
Shoppers have largely praised the small discounter online for its wide variety of stock and hefty discounts.
Posting on social media, one fan recently said: “Always has a wide range of branded and inexpensive good. Friendly staff and convenient parking.”
Another shopper said: “Quality Save has lots of products at lower cost than the other shops and supermarkets.
“It’s a brilliant shop good for Christmas, Easter, Mothers and Fathers Day, Summer and Halloween events.
“Amazing toys, food and drinks at a good price. Plus it has animal food too,” said a third shopper.
Quality Save was originally founded in 1974 by Bob Rudkin.
He started off with an indoor market stall in Walkden and a small shop in Farnworth.
The company then expanded and opened more outlets over time.
But in January Quality Save’s 21 stores were sold to TJ Morris.
It was then announced that all stores would be given a Home Bargains rebrand.
In August TJ Morris confirmed that the Stalybridge, Atherton, Chorley and Darwen stores would not take part in the rebrand and would instead close for good.
Quality Save’s store on Chapel Street in Chorley will be the first to pull the shutters down for the final time on Friday, October 6.
At the time a TJ Morris spokesperson said: “Home Bargains are delighted to welcome Quality Save to our family we’ve been working through store specifics and investing in converting stores to the Home Bargains brand growing sales and creating jobs.
“We have decided to close four small stores as part of our review but guaranteed roles in nearby Home Bargains stores for all colleagues.”
Two stores have already been converted to Home Bargains.
Right now the chain operates across the remaining 14 stores – 10 of which will eventually become Home Bargains in:
- Cheadle
- Chorlton
- Dewsbury
- Droylsden
- Hyde
- Middleton
- Prestwich
- Sale
- Stretford
- Widnes
Quality Save stores have a red and sky blue logo which often confuses shoppers who could easily mix it up with that of Home Bargains.
It’s worth making a note of the ways in which you can save extra cash at Home Bargains now that these stores are set to be converted over.
How can I save money at Home Bargains?
Home Bargains stocks plenty of everyday household products at already low prices, but every now and then it will slash costs with special “star buys” and limited-time sales.
Plus, the store has its own range of products that look strikingly familiar to rivals’ more pricey options.
That means bagging a Home Bargains dupe is a good way to make your wallet happy too.
But remember that it’s only a deal if you were planning on buying anyway.
You shouldn’t buy something just because it’s a bargain price, or discounted, otherwise, you might go over budget.
