Meet Derek Gatts, the HGTV Husband of Noel Gatts
Derek Gatts is married to his wife, HGTV host Noel Gatts. On her Facebook business page (beam & bloom), Noel has announced several times that she and Derek have been together since her husband was 19 years old. Noel and Derek celebrate their wedding anniversary on September 5.
The couple was inspired by their quest to “nest” through years of travel. She and her husband began their venture in New York City as touring singer/actors. After their financial situation improved, the husband and wife duo purchased their 1941 3-bedroom colonial home in the vibrant and quaint Brookdale neighborhood of Bloomfield, New Jersey in 2014.
That was the beginning of Noel’s interior design career.
Now, Noel shares three children with her husband; two sons and one daughter. In November 2021, Noel shared that she and her eldest son visited her alma mater, James Madison University, where she will study computer science.

After graduating from Otterbein University with a degree in Vocal Performance and Dance in 2002, Derek Gatts dreamed of going into show business and establishing a long-term career. He has worked as an actor/dancer/singer in regional theater, national Broadway tours, and films.
Derek also excelled at self-promotion and contract negotiation. He could enliven any performance with singing and tap dancing.
From 2002 to 2005, Derek was associated with and worked with Actors Equity.
After 2005, he changed careers and started working at Gruss & co as an office assistant. He worked at the company for a year until 2006. In 2006, he was assigned the position of Production Assistant for People Magazine at Time Inc. After working for a year, in April 2007 he was promoted to Ad Production Specialist.
A year later he became an Ad Operations Associate and, in January, Ad Operations Associate | site leader. Derek served as Head of Ad Operations until March 2013. He then became Assistant Director of Ad Operations, followed by Director of Ad Operations, and finally Senior Director of Sales Planning until August 2015.
Derek then joined Bloomberg LP as Global Head of Ad Traffic and Media Planning in August 2015. In June 2016, he became Global Head of Ad Traffic Technology and Innovation. He was later promoted to global head of ad operations and innovation, where he worked until April 2019.
In November 2019, Derek left Bloomberg to join CNN as Vice President of Advertising Products. He resigned from CNN in November 2020 and became Vice President of Network Advertising Products for WarnerMedia in November 2020.
