Dan McCafferty, popular singer and lead singer of hard rock band Nazareth, has died on November 8, 2022 at the age of 76. Pete Agnew, a member of his band, announced the news. on Facebook, write:

“Dan passed away today at 12:40 pm. This is the most shocking news I have ever had to deliver. Maryann and her family have lost a lovely husband and a loving father; I have lost someone. My dearest friend and the world has lost one of my greatest singers I’m too sad to say anything right now.

McCafferty was a member of Nazareth from its founding in 1968 until his retirement in 2013.

Dan McCafferty passed away on Tuesday (November 8), and although his bandmate Pete announced the news on social media, he did not mention the cause of death. McCafferty suffered from various health problems, but it is unclear if they had any effect on his death.

McCafferty stopped traveling with Nazareth in August 2013 due to health problems. Dan revealed his health problems to the British music magazine Classic Rock and insisted he had never had a stroke as previously reported. Dan said that same year (2013), he passed out on stage during a performance in Canada due to ruptured stomach cancer. When asked about the event, he replied that he assumed he would be fine, but individuals would lose a lot of blood when this happened.
