Jessica Dimmock, best known for her work Without, The Convention and Pearl, among others, is expected to direct the documentary series. Texas Killing Fields is a large area near League City, Texas. When the bodies of many girls were discovered in the 1970s and 1980s, the area made headlines. Rumor has it that many women have disappeared in the area and some murders remain unsolved. So far, 30 bodies of murdered victims have been discovered in the area. One of the victims was Laura Miller, whose father, Tim Miller, frequently appeared in documentaries. Laura was reported missing for nearly a year before her body was discovered nearby. Audrey Cook and Heide Villarreal-Fye were among many other victims.
Many documentaries and true-crime shows have thoroughly investigated the murders. Texas Killing Fields, a film based on the murders, was released in 2011. It was directed by Ami Canaan Mann and stars Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Crime Scenes: Killing Fields in Texas will be available on Netflix on November 29, 2022.
