GRIEF-STRICKEN Kate Connor will be left devastated in Coronation Street next week as she gets Rana Habeeb’s personal belongings back from the police.

Peter Barlow exhausts himself looking for her to no avail. After a fruitless search he heads over to The Rovers and breaks the news that Carla is missing, mentally ill and believes that Rana is still alive.

While Johnny and Michelle are shocked by Peter’s revelation, Kate is scathing as she still blames Carla for the death of her beloved Rana.

Peter – Chris Gascoyne – is pleased when Johnny, Michelle and an apologetic Kate all arrive at the Barlow house and tell Peter they’ll help him track down Carla because they’re as worried about her as he is.

But later Kate is overcome with emotion when a police officer hands her bag of all Rana’s personal things. There’s an unanswered message on Rana’s phone that breaks Kate’s heart, but what is it?

Rana – who was played by Bhavna Limbachia – tragically died in Kate’s arms on their wedding day last month when the roof of Underworld caved in, trapping the nurse in the rubble.

Fans sobbed as Kate and Rana said their marriage vows to each other, both knowing that Rana wouldn’t make it out of the carnage alive.

Rana had insisted they say their vows as her brother Imran helped Kate battle past the police so they could see each other one last time.

“Tell me your vows,” she told Kate.

An upset Kate gave in and told her: “You’re everything to me, my whole life. Someone said love is one soul in two bodies and that’s us. I can’t exist without you. You are the most beautiful person in the whole world. And you look a million times better than I do. And then I was going to go on to say I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. All my love, always.”

Rana smiled but said she couldn’t remember her vows and began to panic before telling her: “I don’t want to leave you.”

She eventually found the words and after telling Kate how much she loved her, she added: “All my love, always.”

She then passed away as Kate broke down in sobs as she lay with her wife in the ruins of the factory.

Rana had headed to the factory to collect her bag before the wedding and was in the office as the roof collapsed.
