Can you see a SECOND animal in this photo? You’re in the 1% if you get it fast

AN optical illusion has taken the internet by storm because it tricks the viewer’s brain into seeing something that isn’t there.

You are in the 1 percent if you spot the animal hidden in this illusion very quickly.

Somewhere in this forest there are not one, but two animals that you can perceive with your brain.

There is a golden brown dog, standing in front of a dead tree.

And there’s a cat hiding somewhere in the image, which was shared by TikTok user @HecticNick and recently shared in a Reddit thread.

Users are challenged to spot the cat, but it seems that many had trouble with this task.

“I’m so confused,” one Reddit user commented.

“Are you sure it’s a cat? Lol,” another person commented.

“I saw a completely different cat face near left center and then realized it wasn’t really that,” added a third Reddit user.

In fact, the cat is hidden in the dead branches of the trees, which form the structure of the cat.

After one Reddit user pointed it out in a thread, others immediately started seeing the cat’s silhouette.

How does this optical illusion work?

This type of optical illusion is classified as cognitive.

Basically, our brains go through a process called ‘unconscious inference’ to make sense of the illusion.

Unconscious inferences describe when our mind reaches a conclusion after looking at certain objects or scenes.

As Colorado College experts explain: “Cognitive illusions are the result of our conceptions and assumptions about the world that we impose on visual stimuli.”

In a nutshell, due to the contrast of colors and angles in the illusions, our mind can see something that is not really there, in this case, a cat inside the branches of a tree.

In general, the main reason illusions work is because our eyes see objects which our brain then organizes.
