Can YOU find the curved lines in this puzzle? It’ll drive you round the bend

THIS awesome optical illusion that makes straight lines appear curved has left people feeling “dizzy”.

The bizarre visual puzzle, shared by genomics researcher Laurel Coons, features a checkered pattern with green lines outlining gray squares.

Can you see where the curved lines are?

He went on to challenge the public to spot where curved lines were among various straight equivalents.

But the illusion quickly went viral on social media after users were confused by the “trippy” image with the task appearing to be more difficult than it first appeared.

One wrote: “Better explain this shit!”

Another added: “Curved lines are everywhere. But also nowhere.”

While a third admitted: “This hurts my eyes.”

Scientists previously explained that the illusion occurs when the brain guesses what is happening in the image while looking at only part of it.

And as for the illusion that resurfaced last week, Derek Arnold, a vision expert at the University of Queensland, said such puzzles are likely to scare people away.

However, that hasn’t stopped users from coming up with their own theories behind this dubious new image.

“I think it’s because the patterns are placed and arranged in a circular fashion,” one theorized.

Earlier, another added: “The white squares make up the lines, except we can only see them when they’re blurred.”

Last month, Adeline, who shares “amazing, unusual and bizarre art” on her Tiktok page, shared an optical illusion, causing equally serious confusion among her followers.

The video shows what appears to be a drawing of a hallway, but when Adeline turns the camera, the drawing appears to sink into the table below her.

It seems that an art lover managed to create a magical 3D corridor that runs through the surface below, and no one had any idea how it was possible.

However, at the end of the video, Adeline showed that instead of the drawing sinking into the board below, it was actually a 3D structure. outside of the table.

‘INVERSE PERSPECTIVE’

She said that this phenomenon is called “inverted perspective.”

Another stunning optical illusion baffled the internet in April of this year as it showed viewers a shade of blue they had never seen before.

The illusion works by using a large red circle and a small white dot to trick your mind into thinking it’s seeing a shade of cyan it doesn’t recognize.

To see the color you have to look at the white dot in the center of the circle for 30 seconds.

You should then forcefully close your eyes, and when you open them, you should see a “true cyan” glowing orb.

Speaking to IFLScience, ophthalmologist Ajay Kuriyan explained: “If you look at one color for a while, the cone cells that respond to that color become resistant for a short time so that the cone cells of the other color are stimulated.

“This is the principle that drives the afterimage.”

Another illusion phenomenon is known as 'reversed perspective'.
