A DISTURBED MAN captured an incredible optical illusion showing a large ship floating in the sky.
Colin McCallum spotted a red ‘floating ship’ on the horizon while traveling through Banff, Aberdeenshire on Friday.

Due to the similar color of the sea and the sky, it seems that the big ship is sitting among the clouds.
The keel of the ship is out of sight and combined with the low clouds it seems hard to see where the water ends and the clear blue sky begins.
Startled by the sight, Colin filmed the moving illusion as it passed.
The health and safety worker, from Turriff, Aberdeenshire, shared the footage and images on Facebook later that day, writing: “Saw a real optical illusion in Banff today.”
Later images, also taken by Colin, show the ship high up in the clouds.
Colin captioned his video: “A floating boat.”
Since Colin shared his photo on Facebook, social media users have been stunned by the images.
Gabrielle Jamie Simpson said: “I really can’t understand what’s going on here.”
Ian Archibald posted: “That’s brilliant.”
Joe Anne McCallum commented, “Damn.”
Speaking today, Colin said: “When I first saw the boat I had to do a double take because I really thought it was floating.
“However, upon further inspection, I realized that it was actually just an incredible optical illusion.”
He added: “It was caused by cloud formation closer to shore changing the color of the water closer to land.
“The boat, being further away, was in a cloudless area and therefore the sky reflected the sea, making it appear as if the boat was floating.”
