Today, Anna Crenshaw returned to the US after spending time in Sydney, Australia (including after the case was settled). The last time we saw her on IG she shared a post from New York. She but she only started living in Pennsylvania for a year.
Also, even today, she’s not happy that the offender, Jason Mays, only got probation. In fact, right after the 12-month ban, Jason went back into church administration. Anna insisted that Jason should be fired. “I think the message that he’s sending to the rest of the staff and the rest of the church by keeping Jason on staff is that they can get away with acting like Jason,” she explained.
For those of you who don’t know, Anna moved to Australia in 2016 to study at Hillsong College. There, through a mutual friend, she met Jason Mays, a personnel administrator and also the son of the head of human resources, John Mays.
One night Jason had had a lot to drink and at one point sat next to Anna and did the unthinkable. “Jason grabbed me, put his hand between my legs and his head on my stomach, and he started kissing my stomach. I felt his arms and hands around my legs in contact with my inner thighs, buttocks and crotch,” Anna recalled.
Fortunately, Anna was rescued from him by a man who allegedly asked her not to tell anyone. But days later, when Anna found out Jason was married, she debated whether to report the incident or keep quiet because the youth leader abused her as a child.
Unable to contain her thoughts, in December 2018 she finally spoke with Margaret Aghajanian, Head of Pastoral Care Oversight. But unfortunately, the pastoral team was not very helpful and she was asked to serve elsewhere. Also, she was embarrassed that she raised the issue!
So here Anna got her dad involved and they got the police involved in 2020. Of course, Jason later pleaded guilty to “indecent assault” in a local court.

Anna Crenshaw loves her father Ed Crenshaw to the core. He was the one who taught Anna how to always fight for justice and helped her through her legal battle with Hillsong.
Due to her bravery, Ed is proud of his daughter. “I am very proud of Anna. She does everything she can to stand up for what is right. Previous stories have appeared in Vanity Fair and the Christian Post. Hillsong’s responses were to lie, obfuscate and protect the perpetrators,” he said on FB. .
Ed was born in Greenville, Kentucky, attended Greenville High School, studied Government and Spanish at Center College, School of Theology and Missions at Oral Roberts University, and Beeson Pastor Program: Biblical Preaching and Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary.
After gaining enough knowledge, Ed went on to work at Victory Christian Fellowship and eventually became the Senior Pastor of Victory Church Philadelphia.

Who is the mother of Anna Crenshaw?
Like Anna Crenshaw’s father, her mother, Lisa Crenshaw, is also a pastor. However, she was an associate pastor at Victory Church in Philadelphia. In addition, she was a youth pastor at First United Methodist Church in Altus, OK.
