A teen girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and currently remains in police custody.
The terrifying aftermath of the stabbing was captured on video as one boy yelled: “That girl’s got stabbed.”
The video, which we are choosing not to show, appears to show two girls on the ground in an outside area of the school before one is pulled away by staff.
The other is supported by school workers as teachers try to clear the area of students who watched the attack unfold
One boy can be heard saying: “What the f***, what the f***?” before a teacher orders the students to “get to class now”.
Cllr Karen Davies, an LEA governor, said two staff members were injured but did not know if any kids had been harmed in the stabbing.
The councillor added: “I have been told someone has been arrested and that two members of staff have been stabbed, but have no confirmation on how serious the injuries are.
“I send my thoughts to those injured and all the people there. I know how well the school rehearsed lockdown and I am sure everything is under control.”
One pupil told The Times: “I was upstairs in English class. I walked out and someone told me this girl got stabbed. I didn’t believe her and then heard on the tannoy ‘code red’. So I ran out and jumped the [7ft-high perimeter] fence. A teacher told us not to jump the fence but we did anyway for our safety.”
Dyfed-Powys Police said three people received treatment but did not reveal how they were injured or their ages.
A spokesperson added: “One person has been arrested and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
Car smashes into primary school sparking huge evacuation as emergency crews scrambled & pupils told to go home
“Emergency services remain at scene and the school has been closed while investigations continue.
“We are working closely with the school and Carmarthenshire County Council.”
Parents reported their children were told to stay in classrooms while police investigated the horror.
One said her daughter informed her that pupils were being put into a “Code Red” situation as rooms were locked for their safety.
Lisa Barrett, whose daughter attends the school, added: “She sent me a text to say the school was in lockdown. It’s really worrying.
“You hear from your child saying someone has been stabbed, you don’t know what to do for the best.
“You just don’t expect it, you send your children to school and think they will be safe.
“It is comforting to know they are locked in the classrooms though.”
Pupils are now being released from the school and were seen hugging their tearful parents at the gates.
