With the second installment in James Cameron’s Avatar trilogy due out in December, it’s time to reflect on the spectacular feat his 2009 masterpiece has achieved. Five behind-the-scenes facts related to Avatar

Many people probably don’t know that many of the jungle scenes in King Kong are CG. At first, they worked a lot with miniatures, but in the end they recreated a lot of the forest with CG.”
2) The Avatar’s cuisine is completely plant-based.

4) Paul Frommer invented a whole new language for Avatar.
Linguist Paul Frommer was tasked with developing a new language for the film and its vivid setting. Frommer is said to have started designing the language from the ground up to create something that would connect with viewers while also capturing the spirit of the Na’vi.
5) The Na’vi design is said to be inspired by Cameron’s mother’s dream.
The Na’vi have a beautiful appearance unlike anything seen. The style is said to be inspired by James Cameron’s mother’s dream. Due to the mystical nature of the visual medium, dreams and movies have long been intertwined. Cameron confirmed this in an interview, adding that his mother saw a “12 foot tall blonde woman” in her dream. This influenced Cameron’s development of the Na’vi human interface.
