Sophia Nomvete Is Portrayed As A Disa In “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”

Sophia Nomvete will portray Princess Disa in the forthcoming Amazon Studios fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The series is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit, both of which are based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. The Rings of Power is a prequel to the film series that takes place a thousand years before the events of The Hobbit.

Disa is the princess of the Dwarven city of Khazad-dum. While the character’s roots in Tolkien’s novels is uncertain, a Lord of the Rings fan website believes that Disa’s character, like Nazanin Boniadi’s Bronwyn, was invented for the express purpose of the series. On Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be released on Amazon Prime Video.
