In 2003, So started his career by working as an intelligence analyst for the U.S. government’s Defense Intelligence Agency. He worked for the organisation for almost three years before switching to a defence contractor position with McNeil Technologies for three years.
So additionally worked as a counterintelligence special agent for the United States Army from October 2003 till 2011. In this capacity, he oversaw a team for both domestic and foreign combat operations and performed the duties of a tactical intelligence team sergeant.
After he left the active military and intelligence sphere, So co-founded a start-up enterprise named Cubby, whose modus operandi was solely centred around logistics. Subsequently, from May 2012 to December 2014, So became a Forbes contributor, writing articles on various topics such as entrepreneurship, business, and veterans.
He is also known for his leadership in business and technology. He is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of The So Company, a content-driven service design company which helps organisations build better relationships with their customers, including big government organisations and fledgling businesses in the US and Europe. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the US Department of Veterans Affairs are notable clients of The So Company.
