TikTok’s tallest family reveals the strange things people say

Standing at 6 feet, 2 inches tall, Marie Temara is the oldest in her family of five – but rings in as the shortest.

The self-proclaimed tallest family on TikTok has gone viral online, with some clips amassing millions of views.

“About a year ago, I posted a TikTok about being a tall girl and some of the struggles, and it immediately went viral,” Temara, who touts more than 770,000 followers, told the Sun.

Her brothers Shane, 26, and Troy, 24, are 6-feet-9 and 6-feet-10 respectively, making the youngest sibling the tallest.

Temara, 27, said people used to bully her and her siblings over their height, and even now they catch the eyes of everyone “as soon as we walk into a room.”

“I’m the shortest at 6-feet-2, so everyone always comes up to us and asks us how tall we are. We like to joke and say, ‘We’re over 7 feet tall,’ ” she said. “And people always believe it just, cuz you know, we say the same thing over and over again, but we say we’re even taller.”

But their height is no joke, despite their humorous nickname “the giants,” because they can’t even fit in one car. They have to “take a few different cars just to fit,” Temara added, and she can barely fit in her “tiny” Ford Mustang.

“Pretty much fitting on anything,” including planes, is a struggle for the family.

“A lot of roller coasters have height restrictions, so we can’t even do a lot of those. Especially my brother can’t ride any of those,” she added.

But forget about transportation — clothes and shoes are the real challenges.

“Pants are never long enough. I struggle with women’s shoes and so does my mom. We both have huge feet, so finding women’s shoes is very hard,” she continued.

And finding someone to date seems like a tall order. While Temara used to be insecure about her height, she has let go of trying to find a taller suitor and opts for “short kings.”

“Now that I’m confident about my height, I don’t really mind if they’re short or taller, whatever,” she admitted.

Even her 6-feet-5 mom, originally from Syracuse, New York, married her shorter dad, who barely measures up at 6 feet, 3 inches.

“So she kind of just went with the ‘Short King,’ and he loved it,” Temara quipped of her parents, who had dreams of creating “tall, athletic children” after both being former athletes themselves.

After convincing her family — who she believes is one of “the tallest” families active online — to participate in her TikTok videos, she noticed viewers becoming more interested in their lives.

“I realized that our normal everyday family life is something really interesting to most people, so we started making more family TikToks, and they all started pretty much going viral,” Temara said.

In one recent clip with 1.2 million views, Temara said her family isn’t bullied anymore, yet her brothers pick on her for being the “shortest.”
