News of Catherine Greiner
Following concerns by NSW’s recently appointed Aging Minister Mark Coure (pictured at right) that the Council has been “crammed” with Liberal allies under its previous boss, The State Ministerial Advisory Council on Aging (MACA), which provides advice on living in pensions and caring for the elderly, is said to be under review.
The Australian last week revealed that before NSW Prime Minister Dominic Perottet (shown left) reshuffles his cabinet in December 2021, Natalie Ward, who has been in the post for seven months, has replaced one the same number of council members as those loyal to the Liberal Party.
MACA was established to advise the State Government on the needs of older people in NSW. The speaker was Kathryn Greiner, former Retirement Village Ambassador and former Chair of NSW Retirement Villages Field Research. The program has not been restarted since Ms. Greiner’s ambassadorial term ended at the end of 2020.
Sally Betts, Waverley’s Liberal Party councilor, Barbara Ward, deputy mayor of Ku-ring-gai, and Tony Virtue, financial advisor and head of the Liberal Party’s Masculine Business Branch, are located. among the allegedly dubious appointments of the Liberal Party. None of these individuals are listed on the MACA membership website.
According to the publication, Mr Coure is considering expanding the board to re-appoint some of the options he was “angry” about after the Cabinet’s approval. However, Ms. Ward rejected claims that the new members lacked the necessary expertise and claimed that current members of the Council had at least two prior terms.
